Quite a large number of internet users believe Incognito mode makes them secured on the web and their privacy is guaranteed. You have been wasting your time, incognito doesn’t make you invisible on the web, the best part of incognito mode is that it doesn’t save any of your details meanwhile website you visit will.
Use incognito mode if you’re using a Public Device, logging your personal account on a friend’s phone, accessing a highly confidential website and other things you think should not be kept by your browser.
On launching Chrome’s Incognito Mode,
Incognito mode was never made to hide your identity on the web, it’s just that your browser will not let the pages you visit stick around (No histories, No Caches, No Cookies) but the website you visit can still track you, collect information about you including:
Device Model / Attributes
Browser Information and others.
(Firefox has Tracking protection feature in it’s incognito mode – some websites use trackers that can monitor your activity across the Internet. With Tracking Protection Firefox will block many trackers that can collect information about your browsing behavior.)
Nevertheless, don’t be desperate while using Incognito mode because every internet enabled device has a dedicated IP address, MAC address, etc. Your IP says a lot about you and that’s why you see related ads in incognito mode.
If you care about your privacy or need to do something anonymously online, then you should use a VPN. There are thousands of free and paid VPN, just choose wisely so as to find the perfect one to suit your goals.
